SIKESTON — Wayne Cornell Angle, age 83, of Sikeston passed away Sunday, Jan. 31, 2021, at Southeast Health in Cape Girardeau, Missouri, due to complications of heart surgery.

He was born Sept. 22, 1937, in rural Scott County, Missouri, to the late Woodrow and Florence (Poe) Angle.

On March 25, 1960, he married Wanda Helen (Satterfield) Angle, who survives of the home in Sikeston. Before retiring, he had worked for Homestead as a Shop Manager. He was a member of the Antioch Baptist Church in Cape Girardeau, Missouri, where he served as a Deacon.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by one son, Anthony (Lisa) Angle; two daughters, Meloney Angle and Lisa (Marshall) Russom, all of Sikeston; one brother, Larry (Lillian) Angle of Scott City, Missouri; five grandchildren, Brent Russom, Ashley Angle, Blake Angle, Kyle Russom, and Evan Wilkerson; and two great-grandchildren, Harper Russom and Liam Wilkerson.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Dorma Angle and Jimmy Angle.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, Feb. 2, 2021, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Ponder Funeral Home in Sikeston. Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, Feb. 3, 2021, at 11 a.m. at the Ponder Funeral Home. Pastor Glen Hamilton of the Antioch Baptist Church in Cape Girardeau will officiate.

Interment will follow immediately at the Forrest Hills Memorial Cemetery in Morley, Missouri.

Pallbearers will be: Steve Dixon, John Fisk, Brent Russom, Evan Wilkerson, Blake Angle and Danny Smithson.
