Virginia Wright
SEARCY, Ark. — Virginia Rae (Thompson) Wright of Searcy, Arkansas, went to Heaven on Feb. 21, 2021. She was born and raised in Charleston, Missouri, where she married her high school sweetheart, Charles Wright, on April 10, 1954. She raised five sons and one daughter.
Virginia left Charleston, Missouri, in 1972 for Blytheville, Arkansas, where she worked at Arkansas Power and Light. Then she moved from Blytheville to Augusta, Arkansas in 1980 where she opened her own Real Estate office, The Wright Place in 1982. She then moved to Searcy, Arkansas, where she sold real estate for Century 21, Powell Realty and was a Broker for ReMax Referral.
Her hobbies included needlepoint, gardening, decorating and playing bridge.
She was affiliated with St. Henry’s Catholic Church in Charleston, First United Methodist Church of Searcy and National Association of Realtors.
She is preceded in death by her parents, C.E. Thompson and Audrey Thompson, husband, Charles E. Wright, and a brother, Jack W. Thompson. She is survived by her children, Charles Michael Wright (Janice) of Searcy, Deborah L. Gairhan (Terry) of Jonesboro, Arkansas, Jeffery Davis Wright (Carol) of Flower Mound, Texas, Robert Scott Wright (Kelly) of Searcy, Richard Todd Wright of Blytheville, Boyd Thompson Wright (Stacy) of Searcy; grandchildren, Micah Gooch (Tyson) of Conway, Arkansas, Tyson Wright (Jenny) of Searcy, Zachary Gairhan (Kaycee) of Jonesboro, Emily Boyd of Searcy, L.C. Wright of Flower Mound, Texas, Austin Wright of Flower Mound, Texas, Blake Wright (Luka) of Rogers, Arkansas, Audra Allen (Daniel) of Maumelle, Arkansas, Anna Shuck of Blytheville, Madison Wright of Blytheville, Lauren Caple (Chase) of Searcy; stepgrandchildren, Bethany Williams (Chris) of Baton Rouge, LA, Megan Porter, Kelsey Porter, Josh Lott and Jake Lott all of Searcy, AR; great-grandchildren, Remi Cate Gooch and Anniston Carter Gooch of Conway, Tatum Brock Wright, Jaxon Gray Wright, Ella Rose Wright and Savannah Boyd all of Searcy, Denver Allen, Charley Allen and E.J. Visitation will be held at Powell Funeral Home in Searcy on Wednesday, Feb. 25, 2021, from 5 p.m. to 7p.m.
A graveside service will be held at Calvary Cemetery in Charleston on Thursday, Feb. 26, 2021, at 2 p.m.
