Roy Bowles
MOREHOUSE, Mo. — Roy Lee Bowles, 66, of Morehouse passed away March 27, 2021, at Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
Roy was born in Bell City on Feb. 8, 1955, to Charles and Shirley Bowles (nee Wells). He served his country in the United States Marine Corp from 1974-1978. He enjoyed backyard barbecues, playing pool, horseshoes and especially being surrounded by family and friends.
Roy is survived by his special friend, Dee Staples; his siblings, Charles D. (Sue) Bowles of Paragould, Arkansas, Ronald (Ellen) Bowles of McCrory, Arkansas, Leon Bowles of Newton, Iowa; Peggy (Don) Voss of St. Louis, Maxine (Jim) LaFleur of Sioux City, Iowa, and Barbara Harlow of Searcy, Arkansas; and a host of family and friends.
Roy is preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Shirley, as well as his beloved son, Robert Pickering.
Memorial service will be held at a later date at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield, with full Military Honors under the direction of Ponder Funeral Home of Sikeston.
