I saw in Speakout where Sikeston continues to fight the mosquito problem. All I got is say is it’s not enough.

Add old Flower Basket building to list

I would just like to say the sprucing up of our downtown is really looking nice. Thank you to the city or organizations that are responsible for this. I hope the old Flower Basket building is on the list. It has looked like a pig sty for a number of years now.

Funny how that works

It didn’t take long for Fox News and the Republican anti-vaxxers to reverse course and start telling their zombies to get the COVID vaccines after the statistics proved that their followers, and a very high percentage of Republicans are the majority of the people in the hospital for COVID and dying, particularly here in Missouri. One of the worst places in the United States to be when it comes to COVID.

Slow down on North Ingram

This issue goes to speeders in Sikeston, Missouri. The city needs to do something about the speeders on North Ingram. I’ve lived on North Ingram now for 26 years and the speeders on this street are out of control. Just last week, two diesel pick up trucks were side-by-side going down the street and I guarantee you they were going over 100 mph. Every single day this happens. This is getting crazy over here. The speed limit is 35 and I don’t think anyone does under 65. I asked the chief if we could do something about it and he said he would ask the city council at the next meeting if we could get this flashing light fixed in the next budget. Can’t we maybe do something like have more speed traps put on street before someone gets killed. The speeding on North Ingram is out of control.
