SCTC offering spring 2022 short-term, night training option for welding

SIKESTON — Sikeston Career and Technology Center is offering a spring 2022 short-term, night training option for high school seniors or recent graduates interested in a career in manufacturing welding.

Sikeston CTC has partnered with the local Workforce Development Board to offer a pre-apprenticeship after-school training program specifically for high school seniors and youth 24 and under. Students will be referred to Workforce Development to see if they qualify for a full tuition waiver. Interested students should fill out the Google Form. Each course will be sponsored by local businesses that are looking for qualified applicants to join their workforce.

Classes are forming now and there is a limited number of openings per class.

All course attendees will receive a free auto darkening welding hood to help kick start their new career.

Choose one of five offered meeting weeks: Jan. 10-14; Feb. 7-11; March 14-18; April 25-29; and May 16-20. The course is from 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Sikeston CTC Welding Technology Shop.
