High gym dedication to Bidewell

The Portageville School district dedicated their High School gymnasium honoring Coach Jim Bidewell. The event was held on Saturday, December 9th between the jayvee and varsity games. Portageville hosted Gideon. Before that was a Chili Supper held in the high school cafeteria.

Coach Bidewell, and his wife, Marion, watch as Coach Bidewell thanks God, family, friends and co-workers, the community, and his pastor for all the years of support and encouragement given to him.

Several former players and assistant coaches were on hand to be apart of the ceremony.

The Portageville Chamber of Commerce held a ribbon cutting ceremony as part of the ceremony.

Coach Bidewell wanted to acknowledge John Thomas and Lewis Rone for their past involvement in helping build the Portageville School District. Rone is a former school board member.

The Portageville Bulldogs come onto the hardwood to play the Gideon Bulldogs.
