SIKESTON — Betty “Jane” Skinner Evans, age 90, passed away on Feb. 21, 2025, at Delta South Nursing Center in Sikeston.
She was born on July 26, 1934, in Pollard, Arkansas, to the late Orbie and Flora Cole Fugate.
She married Albert Skinner on Dec. 12, 1951; he preceded her in death on June 18, 1984. She married Charles Evans on Aug. 4, 1994; he preceded her in death on Nov. 3, 2019.
She was a member at Miner Baptist Church in Miner, Missouri.
She is survived by one daughter, Teresa (Bill) Bye of Sikeston; one son, Jonathan “Scott” (Merri) Skinner of New Iberia, Louisiana; one brother, Dan (Cheryl) Fugate of Raymore, Missouri; one sister, Margaret Ann Patton of Palestine, Texas; one grandson, Wesley (Christy) Bye; and two great-grandchildren, Jackson Bye and Jillyan Bye.
In addition to her parents and husbands, she was preceded in death by one son, Gregory Skinner.
Visitation will be held on Monday, Feb. 24, 2025, from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel in Sikeston, where funeral service will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 25, 2025, at 11 a.m. with Brother Steve Francis, pastor at Miner Baptist Church, officiating.
Interment will follow in the Memorial Park Cemetery in Sikeston.
Pallbearers will be Howard Harper, Stan Maggi, John Newman, Wesley Bye, Mike Keefer and Phil Hubbert.
Honorary pallbearers will be Boe Green, Ben Jeffries and Gary Ryan.
