PORTAGEVILLE -- The Gideon Bulldogs used an 18 point run in the third quarter to roll over the Portageville Bulldogs, 63-48 Monday night. Kason Lawrence led Gideon (10-3) with 25 points while Allen Earnheart added 15. Chris Garmon scored 21 of Portageville's 48 points with Ian Torrey scored six points. Employees of Fronabarger Concreters Inc. smooth the concrete as they work on the extension of Hennings Drive, west of JC Penney. According to Chris Lambert, engineer with Lambert Engineering of Sikeston, the work on Hennings will extend past the Malco and should be completed by the end of February. Work will then begin to extend Stallcup and to create Cinema Lane, which will connect Hennings and Stallcup. Lambert said the new Malco Cinema is expected to open in late April or early May.
