Online tip leads to Sikeston man's arrest

SIKESTON -- An online tip led the arrest of a wanted Sikeston man over the weekend. On Friday, Sikeston Department of Public Safety detectives received an online tip there was a wanted person staying in the 300 block of Benton Street in Sikeston, according to Sgt. Police are searching Sikeston man wanted on felony assault, armed criminal action charges

At about 6:45 a.m. Saturday, officers with Sikeston Department of Public Safety responded to a call of shots fired and a vehicle struck, according to Sgt. Jon Broom, public information officer with Sikeston DPS. Upon their arrival, they began investigating and learned that a Sikeston man was driving his vehicle north in the 200 block of Branum Street in Sikeston when it was hit by gunfire.
