Born Dec. 18, 1928, near McMullin, Mo., daughter of the late Green and Ethel Vaughan, she was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and the First Baptist Church of Sikeston. EAST PRAIRIE, Mo. — Paul Elgin Haney, 80, died June 19, 2019, at the East Prairie Nursing Center. Born Jan. 3, 1939, in Scott County, son of the late Oliver Haney and Gladys Hockersmith Haney, he had lived in East Prairie most of his life where he farmed until his retirement. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in East Prairie and was a U.S. Army veteran. In 1966, he married Marylin K. Black, who preceded him in death on Jan. 25, 2016. Survivors include: three brothers, Dan Haney of Charleston, Ronnie Haney of Barlow, Ky., and David Haney of East Prairie; one sister, Mary Bell Clayton of Little Rock, Ark.; a special nephew, Terry Bruce McLain of East Prairie; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, Herbert Haney, Ray Haney, Donnie Haney and Cecil Haney; and one sister, Doris Lynch. Services and burial will be private.
