Speakout 2/1

I do wish that people would stop teaching others to hit their children. There is so much proof available now to show that it's damaging to punish a child. Our society is cruel to children. People need to respect children for the innocent little people that they are.

You're right. But respect goes both ways and children should respect their parents. If not, then some form of correction response is required.

I'm an elderly woman who babysits a young boy. I take him to The Natural Image Barber Shoppe real often. The last visit there I had put $6 in my coat pocket. When I was ready to leave I got my keys out of my pocket and pulled the $5 out to my unknown. I didn't know until about 30 minutes later when Mr. Glenn Pinkerton called to ask if I had lost $5. I checked and I had. He told me to come by and get it. He could have put it in his pocket but he was honest. Not many honest ones out there any more. Thanks Mr. Glenn.

Are you sure that you don't want those farmers to get those welfare subsidies? Subsidies are put in place for your grocery prices, your prices for clothes, your prices for fuel, just to name a few things. If it takes more money to produce your cheap food that a farmer can get back, then he won't be around to do it again next year, along with all his welfare buddies. If it takes you $100 to build something, and then you sell it for $90, how long will you be in business? How can people live in a farming community and not like the hand that feeds them? Haven't you paid attention to what happens when the farmers have a bad year? What you need to do is stop going to that old grocery store and just start buying directly from another continent. You're starting to sound like the little kid who doesn't know where milk comes from. I'll bet you don't know what sweetens those Coca-Colas that you like so much. Did you have turkey for Thanksgiving? Where did that meat tray come from? What in the world is ethanol, anyway? The best thing for you to do is to stop being jealous and, tonight, before you lay down on those cotton pillow cases and sheets, pray to God that those farmers keep getting help to keep you fed.
