Letter to the Editor

Your view: Fiscal sanity needed

Monday, February 16, 2004

I just read your Feb. 3 letter to President Bush and I must say bravo and ditto. I also voted for him and will undoubtedly again in November but I am extremely disappointed in the spending aspect of his first term. There has to be some fiscal sanity developing and it needs to be fast.

I have cussed the Democrats for trying to be all things to all people for many years but it seems like my party is trying to trump them. We seem to be trying to take their issues away by being first to throw wheelbarrows of money at real or perceived problems. Hell, it's bad enough the Democrats are convincing people they can't live without help, but to have my side doing it too is lunacy.

I don't know if letters like yours or mine will make any difference but at least it gets a little something off the chest.

P.S.: I don't know if you read articles by a gentleman named Thomas Sowell or not but they show the most common sense I've seen in years.

Thanks,

Claude Kurtz,
