Catherine Taylor

DEXTER - Catherine Taylor, 89, died April 9, 2004, at her home.

Born Nov. 14, 1914, at Parma, daughter of the late Charles Sylvester and Jesse Pearl Jones Blackman, she was a member of the Dexter Free Evangelical Church and active in the Dexter Civic Club.

On Nov. 20, 1941, in Dexter, she married William "Howard" Taylor who preceded her in death on Oct. 1, 1991.

Survivors include: one son and daughter-in-law, Dr. Philip and Helen Taylor of Cape Girardeau; one daughter and son-in-law, Toni and Darrel Pyle of Dexter; six grandchildren, Hilary Pyle, Taylor Pyle and Caitlin Pyle of Dexter and Sally Powell, Bonnie Taylor and Jennifer Taylor of Columbia; and two great-grandchildren, Hannah Powell and Sarah Powell of Columbia.

Visitation is from 1 p.m. today until service time at 3 p.m. at Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter. The Rev. Fred Leist will officiate.

Burial will follow in the Dexter Cemetery.
