LILBOURN - Myrtle Simpson, 94, died Oct. 18, 2004, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.

Born Oct. 29, 1909, in Marston, daughter of the late William H. and Nellie Green Mitchem, she was a homemaker and lived most of her life in and around Lilbourn. She was a member of the Lilbourn United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women and member and former president of the Lilbourn Civic Improvement Club.

On June 30, 1928, in Flint, Mich., she married Charles C. Simpson who preceded her in death on March 6, 1988.

Survivors include: two daughters and sons-in-law, Betty Joyce and Jim Dambach of Lilbourn and Donna Sue and Robert Nelson of Chicago. She was known as "Momo" to her grandchildren, Tim Dambach, Grant Dambach, Mike Dambach, Kim Dambach, Chris Lowery, Elizabeth Lowery and seven great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband and parents, two brothers, Bill Mitchem and Lindy Mitchem, preceded her in death.

Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Ponder Funeral Home in Lilbourn, where services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday. The Rev. Dr. Bill Reid, pastor of the Lilbourn United Methodist Church, will officiate.

Burial will follow in Mounds Park Cemetery near Lilbourn.

Pallbearers will be: Mike Dambach, Grant Dambach, Tim Dambach, Al Mitchem and Jon Giddens.

Honorary pallbearers will be: Adam Dambach, Greg Dambach and Ben Dambach.
