Here's looking to an eventful year in 2008

Sunday, December 2, 2007

I would like to start out by welcoming our new members to the Sikeston Area Chamber of Commerce they include: Hinton Wireless, Tanic Tan, Contract Cleaning Company, A Lasting Image, Comfort Inn, and Attitudes Styling Salon. Thanks to Joe Bill Davis our top recruiter this year you did a great job for the chamber. We are looking forward to an exciting and busy year at the chamber and appreciate the willingness of these businesses to be a part of it. In last month's article I talked about the activities of our Workforce Development Committee and as their work continues we at the chamber are busy at work on our upcoming fundraising and community events for 2008. We will have a very busy spring with our Annual Awards Banquet on April 3, the 14th Annual Redneck Barbecue will be held in conjunction with the Sikeston Jaycees 4th Annual Horsepower Festival at the Rodeo Grounds on April 11 and 12. The Chamber will also be co-hosting with Missouri Career Centers our 4-County Job Fair this spring. Oh, and it's never to early to start training for our 3rd Annual Rodeo Run 5K and 1 mile Fun Run/Walk to benefit the chamber and the Justin Cowboy Crisis Fund the Rodeo Run will be held Rodeo Parade Saturday, Aug. 2, 2008.
