Politics and cable TV

How many of you are sick and tired of paying for cable channels that you don't want and don't watch? The cable companies ram them down our throats with a bunch of lame excuses about a "package" system and force us to pay for products that we don't want. The rates for cable TV have risen faster than any other aspect of our lives - three times the rate of inflation. And all the while the cable owners are getting fatter and fatter. Here's what really makes me mad: Legislation which would enable cable customers to pick and choose only the channels that they want has stalled in the Congress! Do you suppose that means that the cable companies have bribed our Congress people to favor the companies over the customers?

Just asking

Is there anything that can be done to get O.J. Simpson removed from the "Hall of Fame" since the courts found him liable for the deaths of Ron Goldman and his ex-wife? How can the NFL continue to show the accomplishments of a murderer. Come on, S.D. Look into this.

Missouri's Kenny Hulshof is one of the few truly honest and ethical Republicans in the House of Representatives. That's why he was kicked off the House Ethics Committee for having the guts to stand up to the corrupt and awful Tom Delay and the powers that be. And there's not a thing that we can do about it. We're proud of you anyway, Kenny.

I would like to know how long the city code enforcement gives someone to build a house. I live on Edmondson Street. The lady who is having it built needs to look around. This has been going on for three years. We are getting tired of loud music, all the noise.

I want to SpeakOut about Mr. Bush and Social Security. He is stupid. Mr. Bush is another Hoover. I guess we will all be eating water - or "Hoover" gravy, as they used to call it. The U.S. is getting in worse and worse condition. If Mr. Bush would leave Social Security alone and keep his fingers out of it and help the United States instead of giving it all away, there would be Social Security. If the young people invest in stocks, they will have nothing. Mr. Bush and Mr. Cheney are nothing but crooks. I guess they will eventually give the sick children and the elderly a shot to get them out of here. That's what it's coming to. The young people in their early 40s and 50s, you're out of it. There is no way you can save and live on what you invest in stock. If stocks belly-up, like it has in the past few years, you will have nothing. We have the most ignorant president in history. He does not care about people, especially the poor, elderly and sick children.

I voted for George Sr. twice in the elections and I voted for George W. twice in the elections. I read in Newsweek that George W. is encouraging his little brother, Jeb, to run in the 2008 election. If George W. doesn't stop screwing around with Social Security, I will never, ever vote for a Republican again. That's what's wrong with Social Security now. All these years the politicians in Washington have been dipping into Social Security. When they run out of money for something, they get it out of Social Security. What is scary is that half the unwed mothers and their children in the United States and all these people who have never worked get SSI. People who have never worked anywhere dips into Social Security for all these deadbeats. I wish they'd leave it alone. They need to put back what they stole, stay out of it and leave it alone for the people who earned it.
