DEXTER - Harold A. Aarant, 84, died June 22, 2005, at Missouri Southern Healthcare.

Born June 29, 1920, in Chidister, Ark., son of the late Minor and Anne Long Aarant, he worked for Bud Shell Ford in Dexter and was a retired truck driver for Hart Transportation. He was a member of the First General Baptist Church in Dexter.

On May 22, 1944, at Piggott, Ark., he married Joan Knight who survives of the home.

Survivors in addition to his wife include: one son, Loyd Aarant of Wappapello; two daughters, Sandra Kay McGovern of Nason, Ill., and Melana Allen of Mt. Vernon, Ill.; one brother, Leonard Aarant of New Madrid; one sister, Alice Carney of Springfield; and seven grandchildren and seven great-

grandchildren.

Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter where services are scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Friday with the Rev. Kenneth Biggs officiating.

Burial will follow in the Old Bethel Cemetery.
