Alta Reed

BLOOMFIELD - Alta M. Reed, 89, formerly of Dexter, died Feb. 27, 2005, at the Beverly Health and Rehabilitation Center in Bloomfield.

Born Aug. 31, 1915, in Lexington, Tenn., daughter of the late Garfield and Lucy Belle Johnson Davis, she was a member of the Dexter Church of Christ. She had been employed by the State School for Handicapped in Bloomfield.

She was first married to Montie White at Steele. He preceded her in death in 1984. On Oct. 17, 1985, at Dexter, she married Lois A. Reed who died Feb. 5, 1995.

Survivors include: four sons, Jerry Lynn White of Cape Girardeau, Kenneth Ronald White of St. Louis, Charles Glen White of Advance and Ron Wayne White of Springfield; one stepson, Wafe B. Reed of Dexter; one sister, Aldeena Southern of Portageville; and seven grandchildren and two great-

grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by one daughter at birth, Alice White; and three brothers and two sisters.

Visitation is from 11 a.m. Wednesday until service time at 1 p.m. at Rainey-

Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter. Dale Grissom will officiate.

Burial will follow in the Dexter Cemetery.
