Call 471-6636

This is in response to "The Forbidden Sin" posting on Oct, 11. First of all, I'm not going to base my eternal life beliefs on a script in a Hollywood movie. I wanted to say that for all those who keep passing judgment on the gay folk in the world, because they're not going to Heaven. How about we all open our Bibles to Deuteronomy 23:1-2. "He that is wounded in the stones, or hath his privy member cut off, shall not enter into the congregation of the Lord. A bastard shall not enter into the congregation of the Lord; even to his tenth generation shall he not enter into the congregation of the Lord." Now, flip over to Deuteronomy 22:11. "Thou shalt not wear a garment of divers sorts, as of woolen and linen together." Hmmm, guess there's a lot of folks out there breaking an Old Testament law wearing something other than 100 percent of one material. Now flip over to Leviticus 11. I won't quote the whole list of clean and unclean meats we're allowed to eat, but that steak we had last weekend was quite the abomination. You can pretty much say, if it isn't chicken or fish, don't eat it. Believe it or not, I'm a God fearing Christian. What I gathered from those Old Testament scriptures, that right along with it contain messages something about men lying with men being an abomination, add that right along with all you out there born without a father because your mother was raped or simply just never married. How about all of you who had a vasectomy or had a horrible accident that disfigured you in a very private area? What about all of us hamburger eating, polyester/cotton blend shirt wearing folks? Looks like we're all in some sort of trouble somehow depending on how you want to interpret God's words. If you want to change one rule to fit today's world, then they all should change. All I ask is just read your Bible, live for God and let everyone's personal relationship with Him be just that, personal. God is the Judge and the Jury, not us. With that said, though, we shouldn't live like we're on trial. That's not the way God intended it, I'm sure.

A lot of people can't get medical help when they need it because we've had low paying jobs all our lives. It's not because we are dumb, but we take any job we can to make a living for our families. I've worked since I was 14 years old. I've been disabled for over a year now, and I can't get help on my medical from the state or from Social Security. But I want to thank some people that are a real help to me and my family. They are Dr. Fred Uthoff and Marilyn Chapman, nurse practitioner, for all their medical help, and Joe Hunter, counselor, for not letting me go crazier than what I am. These people don't act like they care about people, because they really do care about people. So if there is ever an award for being a caring soul, it belongs to these people and all their assistants. Thank you all.

I would like to ask somebody out there if they have the old rodeo poster that used to hang behind the check-in desk at the Ramada Inn out by the interstate. For the longest time I have always admired that poster. Of course when they tore down the Ramada, I have no idea who got that poster. It was from the 1981 Jaycee Bootheel Rodeo and I remember that year because it was Hank Williams Jr. and Ronnie Milsap. That was the year that Hank Williams Jr. had a little too much to drink before he went out on the stage and was not invited back. Does anybody out there know where I can find this poster. If you do, call SpeakOut and let me know where I can find it. I will pay money for it, I have always admired it.
