NEW MADRID - The search continues for a missing New Madrid County woman.

New Madrid County Sheriff Terry Stevens said his officers are following leads in an attempt to locate Christy Ramsey of Parma. Ramsey's family reported her missing to the Sheriff's Department on Oct. 9.

The woman was last seen by family members on Sept. 26, when she left to apply for a job in Portageville. According to Stevens, his deputies were able to locate a witness who saw Ramsey on Oct. 4 in Marston.

A car being driven by Ramsey at the time, was located Oct. 16 in Hayti at a convenience store. "There was nothing out of ordinary as far as vehicle itself," Stevens noted.

Ramsey, 35, is described as having red hair and blue eyes. She is 5-feet, 9-

inches tall and weighs approximately 120 pounds.

"We have saturated the areas we know she frequents and have been devoting all of our time to this," said Stevens. "We got in this game late, but we have been running every lead we come up on until we play them all out."

He said Ramsey's name and statistics were entered into the National Crime Information Center as a missing person.

"We don't have any reason to believe right now that there has been foul play but we are just looking for any information that anybody has about where she might be at," said Stevens.

Persons with information about Ramsey's possible whereabouts are urged to contact the Sheriff's Department at 573-748-2516.
