C.D. Pyle

PORTAGEVILLE -- C.D. Pyle, 80, died Jan. 4, 2008, at his home.

Born Feb. 6, 1927, in Caruthersville, to the late Bryant and Lillie Pyle, he was a retired employee of the Swift Oil Company. A member of the Methodist Church in Portageville, he was a veteran of U.S. Army serving during World War II.

On Oct. 3, 1943, in Piggott, Ark., he married Virginia Lee Workman who survives of the home. Also surviving are two granddaughters, Kim Rainwater Clark of Poplar Bluff and Jennifer Pyle of Selmer, Tenn.; and three great-

grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by one daughter, Donna Marie Rainwater; one son William Bryant Pyle; three brothers Elmer, Chester and David; and one sister, Jewell.

Visitation will begin at 6 p.m. Sunday at the DeLisle Funeral Home. Services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Monday at the First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Darrell McFarland officiating.

Burial will follow at the Portageville Cemetery.
