To the Editor:

As new owners of Sikeston Memorial Park, Garden of Memories and Forest Hills Memorial Gardens, we would like to thank the community for their support and patience. While we are saddened and disheartened by the tragedies of the past, we are committed to restoring, maintaining and preserving the sanctity of these properties.

Our goal is to address and resolve to the best of our ability the many issues that have gone unattended during recent months and years of neglect under previous ownership. We welcome comments and suggestions, and ask for patience as we address these concerns.

In the coming weeks and months you will notice ongoing signs of repair and improvement. Please remember that these infractions did not happen overnight and certainly cannot all be remedied instantly, but we are committed to the long term respect of these cherished grounds.

We have already begun installing memorials that were paid for under previous ownership and never ordered or delivered. We regret the unfortunate incidents of the past and assure the community that we will be diligent and forthright in our promise.

We welcome you to visit our office to discuss any particular matter of concern. Our business hours are Monday-Friday 8 a.m. -- 4 p.m. or Saturdays by appointment. We also invite you to join us for an upcoming Open House on Sunday, March 9 from 1-4 p.m.

Sincerely,

Dale & Teresa Birk
