SIKESTON - An accident occurred late Friday afternoon when a truck driven by a 15-year-old Sikeston juvenile with a learner's permit failed to yield the right of way. The juvenile told officers he was driving south on New Madrid Street when he came to the stoplight, believing it was flashing, he proceeded through the intersection and hit a vehicle, which was westbound. The Sikeston Department of Public Safety had to stop an on-coming Union Pacific railroad train at the scene because of the vehicles on the track. No injuries were reported.
