Peggy Lawson

ADVANCE -- Peggy Mae Lawson, 90, formerly of Canalou, died at 10:03 a.m. Feb. 19, 2006, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.

Born Feb. 5, 1916, in England, Ark., daughter of the late James Arthur and Maude Alice Appleton Vent, she was a homemaker, had worked for Todd Laundry in Sikeston, and was of the Assembly of God belief.

On July 21, 1935, in Canalou, she married Roy Jefferson Lawson who preceded her in death on July 8, 1974.

One son, Larry G. Lawson, and three brothers and two sisters also preceded her in death.

Survivors include: one son and daughter-in-law, Lonnie and Sharion Lawson of Matthews; two daughters and one son-in-law, Linda Lawson Bailey of Sikeston and Jerrilyn and Finley Adkisson of Advance; one brother, Darrell Vent of Bryon, Ohio; one sister, Joyce Nelson of Benton; and 13 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel in Sikeston where services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday.

Burial will follow in the Garden of Memories Cemetery.
