CHARLESTON - Alice Lucille Baker, 94, died at 10:02 p.m. Jan. 9, 2006, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.

Born March 28, 1911, in Mississippi County to the late William Henderson and Alice Greer Bryan, she lived all her life in Mississippi County and was a member of the New Bethel Baptist Church near Charleston.

On Jan. 14, 1933, at Charleston, she married John Elmer Baker, who preceded her in death on April 3, 1969.

Three sisters and three brothers also preceded her in death.

Survivors include: one daughter and son-in-law, Alice and Sam Smoot of the home; and one grandson and granddaughter-in-law, Todd and Krissy Smoot of Mesa, Ariz.

Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie, where services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday, with Tim Miller officiating.

Burial will follow in the Dogwood Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be: Butch Smoot, Rick Smoot, Dale Glenn, Jack Feezor, Jeff Shoffner and Johney Shoffner.
