BLOOMFIELD - Carl Eugene Carrier, 74, died May 20, 2006, at his home.

Born May 13, 1932, at Bell City, son of the late John and Bessie Smith Carrier, he retired from the United States Army after 23 years of service where he spent two tours in Vietnam. He received the Vietnam Service Medal with one Silver and two Bronze Service Stars, the Good Conduct Medal, the National Defense Service Medal with one Oak Leaf Cluster, the Air Medal with Numerals 13 and the Army Commendation Medal with one Oak Leaf Cluster and "V" Device.

On April 11, 1997, he married Pat Hubbard who survives of the home.

Other survivors include: two sons, David Carrier of O'Fallon and Adrian Carrier of Marietta, Ga.; three stepsons, Denny Hubbard of Dexter, Doug Hubbard of West Plains and David Hubbard of Lumberton, Texas; one stepdaughter, Gwen Hubbard of West Plains; four brothers, Elza Carrier of Campbell, Ohio, Charles Carrier of Dexter, Paul Carrier of Kentwood, Mich. and John Carrier of Poplar Bluff; two sisters, Norma Lane of Flint, Mich. and Ruth Ham of St. Charles; three grandchildren and 11 stepgrandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley; and one son, Jim.

Visitation is from 9 a.m. until time of services at 11 a.m. Thursday at Chiles-

Cooper Funeral Home in Bloomfield. The Rev. Gary Cooper will officiate.

Burial will follow in the Pleasant Grove Cemetery near Bell City.
