SIKESTON - Albert I. Seiler, 84, died at 11:30 p.m. Dec. 31, 2005, at his home following an extended illness.

Born Sept. 26, 1921, in Oran, son of the late Herman and Mary Snyder Seiler, he served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II, where he was stationed in England. A radioman and gunner, he flew 68 missions over Europe during the war, and he received the Distinguished Flying Cross, the Bronze Star and an Air Medal with two silver and two bronze oak leaf clusters. He was a letter carrier for 30 years with the U.S. Postal Service in Sikeston, where he retired in 1978; and worked for the Missouri Tax Commission for seven years as a property appraiser. A member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Sikeston, he was a fourth degree member and past Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus Council 3151.

On Nov. 22, 1944, in New Hamburg, he married Margaret Schoen, who survives of the home.

Other survivors include: five sons and four daughters-in-law, Melvin and Peggy Seiler of Gilbertsville, Ky., Kenny and Debbie Seiler of Charleston, Jerome and Cathy Seiler of Springfield, John and Kay Seiler of Sikeston and Steven Seiler of Nixa; two daughters and sons-in-law, Mary Ann and Don Shelton of Sikeston and Shirley and Boyce Waddle of Nixa; one daughter-in-

law, Robin Green Seiler of Sikeston; one brother, Herbert Seiler of Commerce; two sisters, Bernadette Bollinger of Benton and Ailene Kiefer of St. Louis; and 17 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by: two sons, Ronnie Seiler and Bobby Seiler; two brothers; and one sister.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel, with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. Services are scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, with Monsignor Richard Rolwing officiating.

Burial will follow in the Garden of Memories Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be: Brian Shelton, Mike Seiler, Matthew Seiler, Lance Lewis, Joey Seiler, Andrew Seiler, Richie Seiler, Alex Seiler, Rodney Seiler, Randy Seiler, Mark Seiler and Zach Petty.
