Speakout 2/8

If Union Pacific needs to add more trains, they need to pay for an overpass on West Malone so the rest of Sikeston won't be cut off from fire and police help.

Before you stop the trains from running in Sikeston, you may want to call out to BMU and ask them how they get their coal. And then realize that it passes through hundreds of towns to get to Sikeston. What if all of them decided they didn't want any more trains either? You are demonstrating the most selfish attitudes that I can imagine. If you don't want trains through Sikeston, then it stands to reason you wouldn't want them running through other towns either. Go ahead, shut down BMU then all of you can freeze in your selfish ignorance.

I was reading about the new physicians that the city of New Madrid have implicated and supposedly going to fund from mythical writing powers funds. We've always had a volunteer fire department. I wonder how they are going to fund these programs without raising our taxes or our electric rates? I don't understand why we have had a hundred percent volunteer fire department and now we are going to have to pay all these people. If there's a reason, I'm 100 percent behind it. I fail to see the reasoning behind it. Also, if they have all this extra money that they have found, why don't they get the children some playground equipment to play on. You can go to Portageville, Matthews or Sikeston and they have beautiful park facilities. All we have is a little fish park equipment that should go to someone down in Florida or somewhere. It's too small for the kids. Please New Madrid, let's look at your budget and get some playground equipment for these children. You're doing a great job, but you are overlooking a couple of areas. I'm a little ashamed of our park department.

They say that we can do something to get rid of these %#$@ telemarketers. I tell you, I get three or four calls a day and even at night after I go to bed. Wanting to give me a credit card or if I have picked this trip I won. I didn't win any trip. Well #$@!. If anyone knows how to get these idiots off my back or what can I do, I'd appreciate it if they would put it in the paper.

Mike, I want to rephrase my comment that you said I didn't make a point. The President of the United States went to college and he became a cheerleader. He studied cheerleading, that's why he went to college. He picked a man to be Vice President that has a gay daughter and he's against gays he said. Now, need I say more?
