Speakout 9/4

Sunday, September 4, 2005

I was very disturbed by your recent caller who spoke out about little dogs being tied to trees. I am a breeder and I am very concerned about the puppies I sell. It is not often very easy to follow up with the buyers of my puppies. If you have witnessed a situation as you have described, please, please notify Public Safety Animal Control and let them know this is going on because animal abuse is against the law. This is not something that breeders can take into their own hands but if you are witnessing a situation such as you have described it is your responsibility to report that. Thank you so much for calling it to the attention of Public Safety and Animal Control because little pets like that don't deserve to be treated in such a fashion.

This is reference to "Too far on foot." I am a Sikeston public school bus driver. We do have buses from Southeast that do go below the hill - Butler, Vaughn. You say they are walking too far but they are getting off at the wrong bus stop and probably getting on the wrong bus. If they have a problem they need to call transportation - the phone number is in the book and my boss will be more than glad to take care of the situation. Furthermore, they need to know what bus - It is 21 that goes down below the hill, 7 goes around Sikeston Car Wash, 24 goes to Heckemeyer Acres. All they have to do is call the school, they don't need to call you complaining about it. It seems like they have nothing else to do but call and complain about us bus drivers.

I'm so glad that person called and told people to put bacon grease on recluse spider bites would take care of it. I knew that wouldn't work. After all that grease would melt as soon as it hit the temperature of your skin and run out from under your bandage. I mean 70 years ago people were putting hunks of bacon fat even when they stepped on a rusty nail. The would put a hunk of bacon fat on it, bandage it up and it would draw out the poison. I knew it had to be bacon fat, not bacon grease. I'm just glad they called back in before someone before someone went out and tried to put bacon grease on something.

In response to speak outs, know the rules. We are regular bingo players. We voted for bingo to pass because we thought this would be a good recreation. One example of fraud below. But it is true, as most bingo halls in our town, workers work and play bingo. Workers sell and buy pull tabs and the state bingo rules read this is illegal. But they openly do this. One pull tab worker, a lady, was selling .25 pull tabs with a payout of $140. She had $25 worth of pull tabs left in the box at bingo half time. She took them to her table when bingo started for the last half and her man friend and her pulled open the remaining tabs. She signed the $140 pay off tab, put it in the container removed, and the money was brought back to the table. She counted the money and gave the man friend $70. Several bingo players watched this happen. It was reported to management. The lady still sells pull tabs and the man is a caller at the same bingo hall. Regular bingo people who buy pull tabs lose their money and the sellers take it home. Why do they have state rules? State bingo rules are a big joke. They don't enforce them.

For anyone that has moles in their yard and they want to get rid of them all you have to do is get Bounce dryer sheets and stick one down in the hole and it will take care of them. They do not like the smell.

This is for the lady in Speakout who wanted to know where she could get child support from her ex-husband. I have an excellent Web site she can go to. It is called kidslimitedltd.
