SIKESTON -- Bobby Joe Wilson, 70, died at 5:40 a.m. Nov. 7, 2007, at John J. Pershing VA Medical Center in Poplar Bluff.

Born Dec. 27, 1936, in Lepanto, Ark., to the late Elmer Albert Lee and Elsie Ada Wilcoxson Wilson, he retired as a senior master sergeant from the U.S. Air Force after 26 years of service where he was a missile electronic maintenance supervisor. A veteran of the Vietnam War, he was a member of the Henry Meldrum Post of the American Legion.

On Jan. 13, 1958, at Morehouse, he married Patricia Katherine Smith who survives of the home.

Other survivors include: one son, Rick Wilson of Sikeston; one daughter, Janice Wilson of Bagota, Texas; two brothers, Charles Wilson of Morehouse and Larry Wilson of Sikeston; and two grandchildren, Shannon Davidson of Tustin Village, Calif., and Jeffrey Wilson of Rantoul, Ill.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Rayburn Wilson; and two sisters, Lawanda Keeling and Shirley Bierman.

Graveside services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield. Full military honors will be provided by the Missouri Military Honors Program.
