Magazine helps promote image for Sikeston

Sunday, December 4, 2005

Congratulations to the Historic Midtown Development Group and the Sikeston Soccer League for a busy and successful Nov. 4, 5 and 6 weekend. There were a lot of people in town staying overnight in our hotels and spending money on food, gas and gifts. We appreciate all your hard work.

The SACC staff has been busy working on our fifth edition of the Images Magazine. Joe Thomas from Journal Communications is joining us again this year. Joe will be contacting our members about advertising opportunities in the magazine.

The magazine tells the story of the Sikeston and Miner areas, highlighting our community and commercial success. The magazine is used by the cities, counties and the Chamber in recruiting new business to the area. It is also used for relocation information, tourism and local residents often send it to friends and relatives to update them on what is going on in the area. Medical groups use the magazine in their physician recruitment, industries use it when talking to management relocating to our area and we have had brides and grooms send it to their out-of-town guests traveling in for the big event. Images Magazine is used in many ways and is free to the public thanks to our advertisers. The 2006 issue will be available April 8, 2006.

If your are interested in advertising in the magazine contact Joe at the Chamber office, 471-2498.

Finally, I would like to mention that with Christmas right around the corner there are a lot of community activities taking place - plays, Nativity scenes, concerts and so on. The best way to find out about these events is to go to our Website www.sikeston.net and click on our community calendar to find out times and locations.

We at the Sikeston Area Chamber of Commerce wish everyone a very happy holiday season.
