I would like to respond to "Taking a Hike." You say we were hit with the highest electric rate in history, look around. My family lives in Portageville and their electric bill alone is twice as much as my electric, water, sewer and trash combined. We did not lose our trash service, instead we gained a cleaner more efficient service. As for the 38 percent you quote, mine has been closer to 30 percent. Have you noticed all the new poles, wires and transformers along with all the tree trimming that has been done? Those things cost money and have to be done. I enjoy having the power on at my house and being able to turn it on and off as I wish. Have you already forgotten about Christmas Eve a few years ago when we were in a blackout and the temperature was around zero? As for the big salaries for city employees, I too saw that on the Internet (thanks to city employees for keeping council meetings up to date now) and thought the salaries were high for our area, but I did what you should have and "took a hike" to city hall and got an explanation. Turns out none of those employees were secretaries and not one of them got more than a 2 percent increase. Your rumors only bring our city down!

I wanted to tell who ever it is that keeps stealing items out of my parent's yard, you should be ashamed of yourself! My parents live in Morehouse and they have had several items stolen. Just the other day, someone saw an individual going through my parent's mailbox. This is unbelievable. By the way, did you know that going through someone's mail is a federal crime? How can someone be so lame as to do this? If you need something that bad, all you have to do is ask them for it, and I'm sure they would give it to you without question! Just beware, you are being watched. The proper authority has been notified, but I'm sure nothing will be done about it. Get out and get a job and stop being a thief! Whomever this or these individuals are, shame on you.

How can the Democrats in Washington, including Missouri Senator Claire justify actions against a four-star general in the Army who has more loyalty and commitment to the USA than all of them combined? All who are taking their marching orders from moveon.org, they buckle down to moveon.org and George Soros who financed most of their elections, which includes Senator Claire. This group in my estimation is a threat to all of us. They want to wave the white flag and surrender. I don't think that most of the people in Missouri understand what they elected. Does anyone remember what happened in Vietnam and Cambodia after the liberal Democrats cut off funding the troops? A black mark in our history. Senator Claire would do the same thing in Iraq. Next, now the Norman Shu deal. Hillary and Claire took money from him. He is a crook and thief, but this is not unusual for the Clintons. Hilary said that she would give back $875,000, but then changed her mind. Claire sad that she would not return hers. Not unusual, considering what she did in the election.
