Child struck by car in Caruthersville
CARUTHERSVILLE - A 10-year-child was seriously injured when his bicycle was struck by a vehicle.
According to the Caruthersville Police Department, the child was riding his bike at 6:29 p.m. Sunday near the intersection of Truman Boulevard and West Seventh Street when the accident occurred.
The child was transported by ambulance to Pemiscot Memorial Hospital then transferred to Lebonuer Hospital in Memphis. The 18-year-old driver of the vehicle was treated for minor injuries at the Pemiscot Memorial Hospital.
Truman Boulevard was closed between West Sixth and West Eighth streets until approximately 9 p.m. as the Missouri State Highway Patrol investigated the accident.
Also assisting at the scene were the Caruthersville Fire Department, Pemiscot County Sheriff's Office and the Pemiscot County EMS.
