Speakout 1/21

Sunday, January 21, 2007

I am responding to the military and Medicaid insurance card call. First of all the guys in the military should have their cards accepted anywhere. They are fighting for our country. It is their job, yes, but they are fighting for our country. You have people on Medicaid who have never worked in their lives and these young girls having all these babies they get Medicaid, they get medicine paid for, they get food stamps, they get welfare, they get low-

income houses, they get anything just about that people who work all their lives don't get. Just like income tax. Income tax people who work all their lives don't get a break but let your girls have three or four or five babies and you get $5,000, $6,000 back and children complaining about the foster kids, you chose to have those foster kids. That is your job because you took that as a job and you knew what the consequences were when you picked those kids to be a foster parent.

Mike you spoke the truth in Sunday's editorial. You hit the nail right on the head. George Bush bent over backward to help those New Orlean people. I know. I've lived down there and they are a bunch of welfare cheats. You can't help them people. You can take them food and they want it cooked and brought in to them and they want you to give them the table to put it on. The worthless politicians have ruined them. It is a shame. Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton are devils in the flesh. I'm up in years - 80 years old - and I know what I'm talking about. I've been there and I know how they operate. They want you to give them everything and then they aren't satisfied.

This is to the person who wants to chase moles from their yard. This is Jerry Baker's recipe's: 1 1/2 tablespoons of hot sauce, 1 tablespoon of liquid dish soap, 1 teaspoon of chili powder, and one quart of water. Simply pour the tonic in the mole runways and they will run away.

My comment is today is Martin Luther King's birthday and there is no picture anywhere on the Standard Democrat.

A picture doesn't always equal a thousand words. Apparently you failed to read Sunday's article on the Sikeston MLK festivities and didn't want to wait to see Tuesday's front page story and article about New Madrid's King parade.

This is in regard to the comment where someone said Wal-Mart would win the situation where there is no left turn coming out by McDonald's. Wal-Mart and McDonald's asked that they do that. So Wal-Mart will win that one - they didn't want anybody making a left turn. Thank you.
