Tumbling down

At 5:30 a.m. Saturday a Sikeston landmark began tumbling down. A.C. James with A.C. James Excavating began demolishing the former Scott-Huff building on Malone Avenue in downtown Sikeston early to prevent disruption of traffic. The street was reopened by 9 a.m. with work continuing through the day. James estimated it would take two to three weeks to completely remove the building's debris and complete the project.
