Your view: Giving life

Friday, May 26, 2006

Thank you to all the heroes that came out to the Methodist Church on May 18th and gave a part of themselves-a vital part without substitution -a part that will save lives!

If we had a medal you would deserve it, a gold ribbon, a trophy -but there is no award suitable for to us saving a life is the academy award!

We would like to thank each one of you from the bottom of our hearts for giving up your time and a part of you-to save someone else!

We would also like to thank Rotary for sponsoring the drive, Domino's (Teresa) for donating the pizzas and of course the Standard Democrat for spreading the news!

Nationally more than 4 million people receive blood transfusions each year and the over overwhelming majority would die without it. Locally one out of every 10 hospital patients receive blood, that means someone needs blood to survive EVERY TWO MINUTES!

Our mission is to save lives but we need you! If, you have never given blood I urge you to join us at our next blood drive on July 13th. If, you are a faithful donor, on behalf of the lives you save we say may you reap the blessings of loving thy neighbor as thyself!
