DEXTER - Marilyn Faye Pippins, 71, died May 29, 2007, at the Missouri Southern Healthcare in Dexter.

Born May 13, 1936, at Frisco, daughter of the late Carter P. and Esther M. Smith Worley, she was a member of the First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Dexter. She had attended elementary school at Frisco until her family moved to Dexter in 1943. A 1953 graduate of Dexter High School, she graduated from Southeast Missouri State University with a bachelor of science degree in elementary education in 1958. She taught at Grayridge Elementary and retired from Dexter Public Schools after teaching in the elementary grades and middle school. She was an active member of Chapter CP, PEO sisterhood, Christian Women Fellowship, Church Women United and Stoddard County Retired Teachers Association.

On May 24, 1955, in Dexter, she married Charles Ray Pippins, who survives of the home.

Other survivors include: one daughter and son-in-law, Jill Ann and Matt Goddard of Jones, Okla.; one sister and brother-in-law, Ruth Worley and Robert Mayer of Dexter; one sister-in-law, Mary Worley of Dexter; one brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Bill and Mary Ellen Pippins Sr. of Dexter; and two grandsons of the state of Oklahoma.

She was preceded in death by one daughter in infancy, Charlyn Cay Pippins; and by one brother, Carter Ronald Worley.

Visitation is from 5-8 p.m. today at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter, where services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday with the Rev. Vaughn Wright officiating.

Burial will follow in the Dexter Cemetery.
