SIKESTON - Leota Anderson Calvin, 87, died at 2:50 a.m. Aug. 21, 2007, at Missouri Delta Medical Center.

Born Dec. 28, 1919, in Wyatt, to the late Alvie and Ada Belle Crews Anderson, she graduated from Charleston High School, was a lifelong member of the Bess Truman Club and volunteered at Sells Rest Home for 10 years. She was a housewife and a member of the First Baptist Church in Sikeston, where she had been a Sunday school teacher for many years.

On April 12, 1943, in Dogwood, she married John Calvin, who survives of the home.

Three nieces also survive.

She was preceded in death by one son, John H. Calvin Jr.; one brother; and two sisters.

Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Thursday at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel, where services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Friday. The Rev. David Jackson, pastor of the First Baptist Church, will officiate.

Burial will follow in the Sikeston City Cemetery.
