Jewel Ross
CHAFFEE - Jewel Ross, 86, died at 1:42 a.m. July 22, 2007, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
Born Feb. 17, 1921, at Whitewater, to the late George Burrette and Annie Matilda McCormick Kinder, she was a retired machine operator. She worked at Buckstein Pants Factory and later at Florsheim Shoe Co. in Chaffee. She was a member of the Church of God of Prophecy at Delta and the Chaffee Chapter of Scott County R.S.V.P. She was a volunteer at the Nutrition Center in Chaffee for 24 years.
On Jan. 14, 1936, she married Erbin V. Ross who preceded her in death on May 20, 1993.
Two sons, four brothers and three sisters also preceded her in death.
Survivors include: two sons, Terry Ross and Ted Ross of Allenville; and four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Visitation is at 4 p.m. today at Amick-Burnett Funeral Home in Chaffee where services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday. The Rev. Dan Baggett will officiate.
Burial will follow in the Barks Chapel at Crump.
Pallbearers will be: Wesley Kinder, Ivis Kinder, Tim Birkman and Michael Birkman.
