Verba Burch

MOREHOUSE -- Verba Burch, 78, died at 5:30 a.m. Jan. 16, 2008, at her home.

Born Aug. 20, 1929, in Essex, daughter of the late Louie and Minnie Trotter Brasier, she was a homemaker and attended the Taylor Baptist Church in Essex.

On March 27, 1946, at Piggott, Ark., she married Fred Issac Burch who preceded her in death on July 9, 1988.

One granddaughter, Carla Cooksey, also preceded her in death.

Survivors include: two daughters and sons-in-law, Brenda and James Carley Cooksey of Matthews and Rita and Alan Livingston of Joplin; two sisters, Vivian Burch and Ruth Bruce of Sikeston; and six grandchildren and six great-

grandchildren. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Visitation is scheduled from 5-8 p.m. today at the Blanchard Funeral Chapel in Sikeston where services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday with the Rev. Jerry Pennington officiating.

Burial will follow in the Garden of Memories Cemetery in Sikeston.

Pallbearers will be: Lonnie Polk, Jimmy Burch, Curtis Burch, Chris Polk, Melvin Belvin and Bruce Burch.
