SpeakOut 7/30

Monday, July 30, 2007

This is in reference to our city's sound ordinance. I'm not saying we don't need one, we do, especially in the residential areas. But I think it does need some changing and I will try to do that. When you get two tickets, the next time your car is automatically towed for the rest of your life in this town. There needs to be a time limit. A ticket for speeding doesn't stay on for the rest of your life. Also, you can be in your parent's family car if you get one, it's also towed whether you have ever had one in that car or not. Right now it's the cop's word against yours if it's too loud. Sikeston, if you want this law, then get some equipment that can measure the sound. So far, my child has gotten all his sound tickets from one certain cop, a little funny if you ask me. His hearing must be better than the others.

I have a mentally challenged daughter. She's 43 years old and works at a workshop in Sikeston. She has no dental care and half the time her teeth are bothering her. I can't afford a dentist because we are on a fixed income. I'm elderly myself and on Social Security Disability. If anybody has any information how I can get this child some dental care, would you please say so in SpeakOut? I am at my wit's end. She suffers with her teeth and they are in bad shape. She used to get coverage. Governor Blunt done something. I don't know what, but he fixed it where she can't dental care.

I sure will be glad when that governor of Missouri is out of office and out on his own. He has put a lot of people in a lot of horrible situations with Medicare, Medicaid and a lot of things. I'm sure God will punish it for him one day.

Mike, I want to say something about Morehouse over here. I read where somebody was asking for help with the mosquitoes. It's being done. I lived there a long time and I moved out in the country. I have a whole bunch of barn swallows every year that come to my place. We sit out on our front porch and our back porch everyday and watch the barn swallows. And all they have to do is give those people over in Morehouse time to get all their marbles together. I'll guarantee they are going to handle the situation with the mosquitoes real well. I was over there the other day and they have cut more drainage ditches than I thought could be cut in a little town. They're doing a good job and I sure wanted to let them know it.

I was watching Cold Case on July 22, a segment about unmarried girls wanting to have their babies in a home for unwedded mothers. It showed how they later gave the babies up for adoption. This was before Medicaid. Now the girls have their babies and keep them. The state pays for their education as well as the welfare of the child. This is thanks to you the taxpayers. Times sure have changed.

Mike, the Democrats are saying it's time to bring the troops home. I agree with them. Let's bring the troops home from Germany, Italy, Japan and Korea.

This is to Sikeston and their new cars. All these thing-a-mabobs and thing-

a-majigs, seems like this town is turning into a gestapo type Communist place. Pretty soon they will be telling us when to go to bed and when we can go to the bathroom.

Here we go again. Food stamp fraud. I have turned this into the investigations at the lady here in Sikeston. I told them about a couple that is earning $400 a week I know for a fact, even showed her a check stub. I know for a fact the woman has been in jail over drugs. They sell their food stamp card for whatever. You know they still get food stamps, they still let them have them. I don't understand how these people can buy drugs and alcohol with these food stamps. Why don't investigations stop this fraud when it's turned in and they know it's true? Why don't they take these food stamps away from these people? This isn't right. They are taking over $300 a month in food stamps and spending it on drugs and alcohol and stuff like that
