Leo Lasater

ST. LOUIS -- Leo Lasater, 94, formerly of Gray Ridge and Dexter, died Jan. 11, 2007, at the Rosewood Care Center in St. Louis.

Born Oct. 4, 1912, in Cedar Bluff, daughter of the late Wiley and Efie McAuther Garner, she had lived in Gary Ridge before moving to Dexter in 1948. She later moved to St. Louis. She was a member of the Salem Baptist Church in Florissant and a past member of the Second General Baptist Church in Dexter.

On July 17, 1929, in Essex, she married Elmer Lasater, who preceded her in death on Feb. 12, 1985.

One son, Billy Lasater; one brother, Hanford Garner; and one sister, Opal Harlan, also preceded her in death.

Survivors include: one son, Bobby Lasater of Hazelwood; two daughters, Maxine Young of St. Charles and Shirley Myers of Florissant; three brothers, Wilburn Garner, Carroll Garner and Loman Garner, all of Sikeston; one sister, Nola Pattengill of Florissant; and six grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until time of services at 11 a.m. Saturday at Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Dexter. The Rev. Doyle Corlew will officiate.

Burial will follow in the Hagy Cemetery in Dexter.
