Speakout 10/4

Wednesday, October 4, 2006

Can you believe that our Republican Congresswoman, Jo Ann Emerson is lecturing us on running up debt and the costs involved? Either she hasn't got a clue or is certain that we are as dumb as this Republican Congress which spends money like there is no tomorrow and charges it all to our grandchildren. If she is just now learning that profligate spendings has ramifications, God help the future of this country because a clueless Republican Congress won't, despite what they say.

Concerning Sikeston/Jackson football game. I will however talk about the safety of the children. We have lost our focus. The decision maker for allowing this game to continue is negligent. Lightning kills.

I don't really like calling SpeakOut, however it is the only outlet we have to complain about police. Seems like they are afraid of these people who walk down the middle of the street and people have to drive around them. I'm getting tired of it.

The many topics of SpeakOut. Election advisory, Not safe on 61 and Life of a sex symbol. Election advisory, don't worry about it. Somebody's gonna be in office, either candidate. So get off your high horse and deal with it. And as far as trains going through your town, you don't want nothing going through your town 'cause there's old money here in town ain't there? Shoot no, it's not safe on 61. It's not safe on 55. They've got 100,000 pounds on there. They don't even have CDL license. Sex symbols? These old men that are sitting around looking at these old women, turn around and moon them. They probably ain't seen nothing like that in 30 years. Isn't life grand?

It's not about golf carts or ATVs. The key words the article was speaking about was taxes and insurance. What happens when an ATV or golf cart hits a car or truck on a county or city street? Is the county or city that permits them to operate without insurance going to foot the bill? Somebody has to be responsible!

I have a general question. I am wanting to attend the police academy in February. The cost of the class is $2500 for a 12-week course. We have worked our budget out to where we can pay our bills and mortgage. If anyone knows of a grant or place that will provide loans for the academy please leave it in SpeakOut. Most all loan companies or student loans don't cover it because it's a 12-week program. Credit wise, I don't have enough established and a minor blemish, and the banks want you to have a job, which I do, but when the academy gets here I won't. For 12 weeks Monday through Friday. So if anyone knows please let me know. This is a career I have always wanted since I was a child and I'm 30 now, and every year it's the same thing, I can't pay for it.
