Hazel Horton

NEW MADRID - Hazel Mae "MeMe" Barbre Horton, 78, died Nov. 14, 2006, at her home.

Born Nov. 24, 1927, in the Yellow Dog Community, she was the daughter of the late Fred and Goldie Summers Barbre.

On Sept. 28, 1946, she married Baz B. Horton, who preceded her in death on Sept. 4, 1990.

She was preceded in death by: two brothers, Harold Ray Barbre and Eddie Barbre; and one sister, Linda Sue Pavlicko.

Survivors include: one son and daughter-in-law, Ralph Edward and Brenda Horton of Portland, Texas; one daughter and son-in-law, Marge Annette and Edwin Howard Riley of St. Louis; four brothers, George William Barbre of Doniphan, James E. Barbre, Jimmy Dale Barbre and Richard Lee Barbre of New Madrid; four sisters, Ravenna Grissom, Betty Jean Mowery, Carol Ann Wilson and Martha Morris of New Madrid; four grandchildren, Lindi Mae and Brian Fowler, Justin Edward and Allison Horton, Jared Benjamin Horton and Jordan Lynn Horton; two great-grandchildren, Riley Savannah Elizabeth Fowler and Avery Anne Neal Fowler; and special friends, Rick and Cindy Faulkner and Imogene Suedmeyer.

Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at Richards Funeral Home in New Madrid. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at New Madrid Baptist Church with Ted Wimberley officiating.

Burial will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be: Robert Riley Jr., Ryan Riley, Mark Baker, Lynn Akins, Butch Lawfield and Rick Faulkner.
