Bland records only victory

CARBONDALE, Ill. -- The Sikeston wrestling team continues to be haunted by forfeits as Carbondale (Ill.) defeated the Bulldogs 75-3 on Wednesday.

The Bulldogs forfeited nine matches as injuries have begun to mount.

Sikeston's only victory came from Gavilan Bland (160), who won by decision over Nick Bleyer.

In other varsity action, Nick De Rosa (112) lost by decision to Ali Regan; Jordan Mays (125) lost by injury default to Jared Regan; Logan Berry (145) was pinned by Zach Lomax; and Josh Northern (heavyweight) was pinned by Cody Howell.

Sikeston's junior varsity lost 66-15, mostly due to forfeits, but the Bulldogs won three of the four matches.

Zach Bryan (112) pinned Cody Stein; Dominique Miles (145) won by decision over Dana Milam; and Robert Madison (heavyweight), who is battling a back injury, wrestled through the pain and won by pin. Sikeston's Justin Hyde (215) lost by pin.

Sikeston will wrestle at Farmington on Saturday.
