Speakout 8/6

Sunday, August 6, 2006

I happen to know of a family that is need of bedding, sheets, pillow cases, towels, wash cloths, dishes and things of this nature. If anybody has anything they would like to dispose of, would you call, 472-6307. It would be appreciated.

I was just wondering why when you go on the Internet to pull up your newspaper it is always a day behind. Wonder why that is.

We are an afternoon paper, not morning. To give our subscribers first look at the news, we don't post the online edition until about 5 p.m.

Here's for the person that thinks inmates are humans too. Look on the opposite page of SpeakOut at little Devionah Clark on how she was killed, 13 months old and tell the parents and relatives of that little baby that the woman that did that is a human and deserves respect and needs to be treated like a person. That's all that the prisons are full of. Sorry about your luck.

To that disgruntled Democrat that said Bush didn't win the election. He needs to go bury his head in the sand. Gore didn't even win his home state, not even his district. Need I say more. That's all in a nutshell. God forbid if he was our president.

I'm calling for many residents on the streets of Dudley and Sikes who are tired of two dogs being released, especially after 5 p.m. and during the evening hours up until 10 o'clock at night, and especially on weekends. They're being released during those times I think because the owners realize that there is not a humane officer on duty at these times. I would like to know what we can do about that because the dogs are still defecating and doing their business in our yard and we are fed up with it.

There goes the farmer again, patting himself on the back. I assume the person was referring to income taxes when he said his taxes pay for welfare. Everyone pays taxes in some form, income, personal property and sales tax. Even people on welfare have to pay sales tax. And farmers get more tax breaks than any other group of people. One big tax break they are getting is on gasoline and diesel fuel. When I fill up, I have to pay all the taxes. They don't. Another thing, if these farmers would pay the people that actually do the work for them a decent wage, there might be less people on welfare. And as far as the bugs, I don't see how there could be that many bugs left in the field after they sprayed everything with everything they can get their hands on.

I would like to speak out about the yard sales. I enjoy going to the yard sales, but I'm going to quit going and there are some more that have joined up with me. The yard sales will put a time in the paper that they are going to start and you can get there 30 minutes or an hour before they are going to open and the people are already carrying out everything. That's not fair to us people who try to get there when it is supposed to open. We are getting very tired of it and we are going to see what we can do about it. Quit going, all of us, or whatever.
