Lee H. Park Championship

On Oct. 28 martial arts schools gathered in Cape Girardeau for the annual Lee H. Park Championship in honor of the late grandmaster Lee H. Park. Park, who died in 1988 and was the founder of the American Martial Arts Sports and Education Association and the Moo Sul Kwan Martial Arts. Members of the Sikeston Moo Sul Kwan Martial Arts Institute participated in the tournament. Earning honors were, front row: Luis Guavara first in form, third in sparring; Joshua Gerhardt, third in form, fourth in sparring; Kayla Gerhardt, second in form, first in sparring; back row: Scarlett Goodin, third in form, first in sparring; Gretta Goodin, first in form, third in sparring; Monica Goodin, third in form, first in sparring; Alexis Stockman, first in form; Ben Priday, first in form, third in sparring; Brandon Buckley, second in form, third in sparring; and Michael Scott first in form,second in sparring. Not pictured but competing were Sydney Davis, first in form, fourth in sparring; Jennifer Thomure, second in Hapkido form, second in sparring; and Ron Merideth, second in Hapkido form.
