Ida Veryl Brown

DEXTER -- Ida Veryl Brown, 89, died on Sept. 22, 2006, at the Crowley Ridge Care Center in Dexter.

Born Sept. 27, 1916, at Bloomfield, daughter of the late Joe and Nancy Ivy Lawson, she was a graduate of Bloomfield High School and was a member of the Powe Church of Christ in Powe.

On Feb. 24, 1940, at Kennett, she married Preston C. Brown who preceded her in death on Jan. 24, 1978.

She was also preceded in death by one brother, five half brothers, five half sisters and two stepsons.

Survivors include: one stepson, Kenneth Brown of the state of Florida; two nieces, Marjorie Duley and Betty Fleming of Dexter; one nephew, Dennis Gibson of Dexter; and nine stepgrandchildren and eight stepgreat-

grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled from 1 p.m. until time for services at 2 p.m. today at the Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home in Bloomfield.

Burial will follow in the Bloomfield Cemetery.
