DEXTER -- Wilmer Niehaus, 92, died July 9, 2008, at his home in rural Dexter.

Born Jan. 2, 1916, near Dexter, to the late Henry William and Sophia Lowenstein Niehaus, he was a farmer and a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Dexter.

On Feb. 2, 1941, at Parma, he married Anna Backfisch who preceded him in death on April 9, 1998.

Also preceding him in death were one brother, Walter Niehaus; and two sisters, Mable Nieman and Marie Cunningham.

Survivors include: one son and daughter-in-law, Randal and Peggy Niehaus of Dexter; one daughter, Barbara Conklin of Carlsbad, Calif.; one sister, Verna Richert of Urich; and two grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled from 5-8 p.m. Saturday at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter. Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday in the Faith Lutheran Church in Dexter with the Rev. Adam Mueller officiating.

Burial will follow in the Chalk Bluff Cemetery near Dexter.
