DEXTER - Construction of the $60,000 Fram Corporation factory is about 70 percent completed, William Brown of Brown Construction Company, general contractor, said today. It is expected to be completed in 60 days.

MINER - Missouri Gov. John Ashcroft praised the state's economic climate as he visited the Steward Steel Supply Co. Thursday. Ashcroft presented findings from Grant Thornton, a business and accounting firm, which ranked Missouri No. 2 in business climate among heavily industrialized states. The company's hollow door and farm division is located in Miner.

EAST PRAIRIE - The emotion in the voice was evident as was the trace of tears in her eyes. The reason - reflections on the past 15 and a half years of her life in a career she loved. Dorris Cogdill officially retired July 1 from the Visiting Nurses Association of Southeast Missouri.

SIKESTON - Invited to be a special guest at the Sikeston Public Library's story book hour recently, Bo was more than happy to show his young audience several tricks he has learned through the years. The canine's owner, Dr. Steve Williams, showed the children heartworms taken from a dog and explained the danger they pose. He was also able to take along some X-rays he has taken of some of the four-legged patients he has cared for at the Animal Health Center.
